Suzuki DR650 To Ko Samui

ONCE A BIKER , ALWAYS A BIKER

Until last night my mind still undecided either to ride or go by car to Ko Samui, anyway, I did all necessary checks up on dr650 tire pressure, engine oil, emergency tool and fuel.

This morning all clear as I push the bike out from the garage. Today 31 august 2012 as all Malaysian celebrates 55th year of the Independent.

Loading her up and left home in the early morning to meet others at RV point. Manage to do 130-140km/h on Dr650 on plus expressway, the wind and cold morning was a little disturbing.  I reach Dannok 07:30 for border crossing and manage to skip temporary custom clearance for the bike. After a quick breakfast we were on the road. From Dannok to Songkla the dr650 manage to keep up with those big bore as the traffic is quite heavy and soon after that, when we reach a clear road I was left behind and cruising around 120km/h

While waiting for a ferry to Ko Samui. Suzuki Dr650 for sure unable to catch or tagging along with big touring ... Kawasaki GTR1400, BMW 1200gsa and even Kawasaki Versys parallel twin 650cc. Dr650 are single bore dual-sport bike are at home when there is no tarmac with reliable engine and easy maintenance, as it wasn't built for highway cruising.

Same exit to a different place

Once a biker, always a biker

The ergonomic, comfort of the bike is below par... Plus noticeable engine vibration when you go past 120km/h... but tolerable enough.

Lunch Ko Samui Style

Fresh Seafood from gulf of Thailand. I’m not a fan of eating those beautiful sea creatures. The lobster alone cost you 800-1000bht each and still considered cheep compare to other place. Anyway, enjoy good and excellent lunch.

Beautiful, serene, soft sand and lust wind at Chaweng beach.

Durian season as some people describe it as King of All Fruits
Grandfather Rock, Ko Samui

Most of the crowd ---->FULL MOON PARTY at Koh PANGAN
Toilet anyone!!!

The bike safely at home and clocking 1015km after 2day rides from Sungai Petani to Ko Samui and back to Sungai Petani.

See you on the next trip
